Duty Manager

We're looking for a Duty Manager to join the team at The Emporium in Clitheroe. It's a busy cafe, brasserie and wine bar rolled into one over 3 floors. If you can offer fabulous service with a friendly smile and enjoy making customers happy then you could be just what we’re looking for!

About the Job

As Duty Manager you'll be responsible for all staff on shift ensuring that they are ready for service, aware of daily business activity and that communication is clear and consistent throughout the shift.

It's busy - we have 160 seats so whether it’s the lunchtime rush, beat the clock pizza time or Saturday night your shift will be a busy one! The kitchen is also on the 3rd floor so you'll be up and down stairs throughout your shift – flat shoes essential!

You'll be a hands on Duty Manager – involved in service and ensuring customers are greeted, seated and well looked after, as well as being available for staff and customers to deal with concerns or complaints. You'll be responsible for the security of the building while on shift, opening and closing the premises, cashing and closing tills and conducting safe checks.

It's important that our staff provide a warm and welcoming service to customers and you'll play a part in training and developing the team to ensure consistent service standards.

This is a full time role working various shifts across Monday to Sunday between the hours of 8am and 12.45am.

About You

You’ll know what it means to deliver exceptional service, achieve consistently high standards and ensure customers are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be used to working in a busy restaurant as a hands on manager, leading by example to create and maintain a motivated and happy team.

Ideally you'll be a Duty/Shift Manager within in a busy restaurant as well as having:

  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • A strong customer service focus with the motivation to consistently drive high service levels.
  • Experience of managing, developing and leading successful teams.
  • The ability to work in a high pressured environment with a calm character.
  • Results driven and motivated.

What's on offer

Hours: 5 days across Monday to Sunday on a rota basis to include early starts and late nights

Salary: Up to £20k dependent on experience
